Apple Video Server
Building4Media developed the software to transform Apple computers (both Xserve and Power Mac) into professional video servers (for broadcasters using the DV format) and content servers (for “live assist”, post production, editing, etc.). Our Apple Server is based on an Apple computer with a modified operating system, special software drivers and hardware transcoders. The Apple Server can be controlled by our FORK Playout Suite software, our FORK Production Suite Editor software, our FORK Playout Xpress software or other (playout) software using a number of standard protocols and emulations. The Apple Video Server beats most of the specifications of high-end video servers for an unbeatable price.
